Welcome to The Hostile!
Mutations are not an oddity in the Hostile lands. In fact, one without would be considered an oddity themselves. Years ago, humankind pulled strings, rewired brains, cut through flesh and bone into the depths of what made animals tick. Specifically, hyenas, and their close cousins, the aardwolves. They honed their technique until genetic alterations and cloning was easy as lifting a feather, but such supposed perfection took its toll on the population. And out of the darkest corners of the humans’ mistakes, there came a breed of hyenas and aardwolves with a thirst for blood, not flesh. They formed without notice of the non-vampiric creatures, hunting in silence, feeding in the dead of night. But now as a drought scorches through the lands, prey has become severely less common to come by, thanks to the vampires’ hunting drives. Even though Quinn the aardwolf, a vampire himself, drove the bloodsuckers off, tensions are running high. Accusations are being made, most of which are directed to the new leader of Le-eyo, Naomi. The drought came soon after the battle between her and exiled Alphess Kidusan, which has been interpreted as a terrible, death bringing omen. Many want her to leave, or to be killed. A fight, and all hell with it, threatens to break lose; so what will you do? Let things run its course?

Temperatures are quite warm, slowly creeping up as summer's peak is approaching. Rain is scarce as are resources, making survival more difficult. It is cool at night, and unreasonably hot during the day.

Phobia is The Hostile's global moderator. She has been here from the very beginning and so knows the ins-and-outs of The Hostile well. Issues with other members, rule-breaking, etc. may be reported to her. However, please use the help of the moderators and help boards first if possible.

Shenzi is one of our newer additions to the staff team as a moderator. If you have issues on the site, we recommend going to one of our moderators before contacting higher staff. They would be more than happy to help you, and this helps the higher-ups manage their own workload.
